Humana People to People is a network of 30 development organisations working in the areas of education, health, agriculture, community development, and climate change, reaching more than 9.5 million people annually. Humana People to People grew out of a progressive education movement in the 1970s now operate in Africa, Asia, Europe, USA, and South America. Agriculture Farmers Clubs programmes work with more than 81,000 small-scale farmers in 15 countries, benefiting over 633,000 people. The programme help farmers to organise and increase their productivity, improve crop quality and create market linkages, helping them adapt to impact of climate change. Community Development Communities take collective action to address health, water and sanitation, income generation, education, and environmental awareness. They create better conditions for children by engaging families, communities and local institutions to find solutions to shared challenges. Education Education programmes train and support school teachers in developing countries to provide educational opportunities for students of all ages, combining practical and academic studies, with sustainable life skills and vocational training. The 53 Teacher Training Colleges have trained more than 40,000 teachers in Mozambique, Angola, Malawi, Guinea Bissau, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and India. Health Working with the people and communities to help fight the spread of HIV and AIDS, TB, and malaria, combining community mobilisation with scientific advances in health. People are equipped with knowledge to take control of their own health and help save the lives of others. Second-Hand Clothing HPP members in Europe and USA collect tens of thousands of tonnes of second-hand clothing every year to recycle, reuse or repurpose. The work is promoting the reuse of materials, reducing carbon emissions, creating social enterprises that generate funds to support social development projects.
